Organic Matcha Akashi is a powdered Japanese green tea. With its fresh, vegetal fragrance, Matcha Akashi is sharper and more astringent than our Fujitsubo premium Matcha, and is best used for training (to train on a less expensive Matcha) or for baking.
In Japan, matcha is mainly used for training in the tea ceremony. It is not brewed like other teas: it is whisked with a Matcha whisk (called a chasen) in a bowl (called a chawan) with a bamboo whisk.
Considered one of the finest teas, it is also one of the richest in antioxidants, which is why it is used in the Okinawa diet. It is also very popular in pastry-making.
